Product News / Accessories: The bag specialists from Ortlieb had a number of innovations to discover at the Eurobike. In addition to the clever Atrack backpack, which can also be used as a classic travel bag, there are also two new bike bags for 2019.
Ortlieb Atrack
Ortlieb has already proven in the past that you can now easily keep up with the big players on the market, not only with bags and backpacks, but also with backpacks. With the Atrack now presented at the Eurobike, they even go one step further and create something like a new kind of backpack that lies somewhere between the classic shape and a travel bag.
The highlight of the Ortlieb Atrack: On the back there is a zipper that goes from top to bottom, with which the backpack can be completely opened like a bag. The zipper doesn't bother you when you carry it, as it disappears behind the back padding. Of course, it also has the usual Ortlieb features: robust, waterproof outer material and numerous fastening and compression straps such as the daisy chain, with which a helmet can also be easily attached.
The Ortlieb Atrack will be available in sizes 25, 35 and 45L and will cost €179, €189 and €199 respectively.
Ortlieb E-Mate
Ortlieb breaks new ground with the new E-Mate bag. Yes, the manufacturer from Franconia has a lot of experience with bags, but the E-Mate is the first dedicated e-bike bag in the range. It can be attached to the carrier struts of most bicycles using the QL 2.1 system and holds up to 16l. The splash-proof bag can be closed with a lid with a magnetic fastener and the reflectors all around improve visibility at night.
Inside there is a removable, padded battery compartment that keeps the (spare) battery securely in place while driving. The E-Mate also offers a zip pocket for the display or control unit.
The Ortlieb E-Mate will be available at a price of €119.
Ortlieb Twin City Urban
At the Ortlieb stand at the Eurobike we spotted a third piece of news: the Twin City Urban bag makes a very inconspicuous impression at first. A compact, waterproof bike bag with a volume of 9 liters and detachable shoulder straps. So far, so typical of Ortlieb. However, the closure is new; this can be folded and hung on both sides of the bag. The idea behind it: If the bag is attached to the bike using the QL 2.1 bracket, the bag can be closed on the outside. If it is used next to the bike as a classic shoulder bag, the lid can be folded over the QL 2.1 attachment, which then cannot rub against the back.
The 666g light bag comes at a price of 129€.
