MTB News: Just one week before the Downhill World Cup in Canada, young riders are fighting for the fastest times at the Kona Rookie Games as part of the Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis MTB Festival. There are exciting races that definitely deserve attention. Clear the stage for the stars of tomorrow!
As with the pros, the youngsters in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis are all about the perfect choice of line and fast times. The talented Austrian Valentina Höll is certainly the best proof that the leap from this event to the World Cup is definitely possible. More than 200 rookie racers from over 20 countries have already registered for the races on August 04th and 05th. The young riders can expect a demanding downhill slope with a length of 1480 meters. Root passages require skills as well as stone fields and jumps.
Bike Park Manager Christian Zangerl: “I think a good DH course should also challenge the participants. For our downhill you have to be able to ride technically well. This route demands a lot from the participants and prepares them perfectly for future races”. But even if the highlight of the Kona Rookie Games is clearly the downhill races, the MTB Festival Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is about much more than best times. “Fun in sport is paramount. The festival offers families the opportunity to gain racing experience in a relaxed atmosphere and to exchange ideas with others," Christian Zangerl continues. The races are broadcast live on www.bike-sfl.at.
