Bicycle workshop: Tips&Tricks Video: FOX Suspension Friday – Every damper fits in every MTB

July 27, 2018 by the editorial office

Tips & Tricks Video: In the next few weeks we will be doing a "FOX Suspension Friday" every Friday, in which we would like to present you with all the basics about suspension elements. Today's Fox Suspension Friday is about:

Does every damper fit in every mountain bike?

And can I change my shock absorber bushings myself?

There are now many damper standards and no one really knows which damper fits which bike. Metric dampers are currently being installed everywhere in the new mountain bikes. The metric measure should simplify the whole thing. At the moment there are still many different installation dimensions. When buying, you have to make sure that the size of the damper fits into my intended frame. Coil dampers are also appearing more and more. What advantages does this have over the air shock absorber?

Another question we asked ourselves - can I change my shock bushings myself? What do you have to pay attention to and does each damper bushing fit with each damper? We spoke to Fox's Chris Trojer about it. He will help us to clarify our questions.
