Testing: Test: 100% Racecraft Plus - big brother of the classic Racecraft with some updates

September 14, 2018 by Thomas Rieger

100% RACECRAFT+

Test: The American eyewear specialists from 100% have given their flagship, the RACECRAFT, a big brother with a few updates. The name has hardly changed and the new glasses model is called "100% RACECRAFT +". The main difference to the classic RACECRAFT is a pre-curved, injected polycarbonate lens. On the one hand, this should increase visual clarity and also guarantee more protection. The lens mount wall has also been increased, making the lens more secure in the frame. A fourth layer has been introduced in the face foam for even better sweat absorption.

100% RACECRAFT+

Having already tested the RACECRAFT, I was curious what the new model had to offer. As you would expect, the 100% RACECRAFT + also shines with its high-quality workmanship. The new polycarbonate lens is significantly thicker and more stable than that of the classic RACECRAFT glasses. This means that the complete glasses are much more stable and stiff, which leads to a very high feeling of security. The new face foam is also very comfortable to wear on the skin and reliably absorbs sweat.

The 100% RACECRAFT + is currently available in 6 different color variants, which will certainly multiply over the next few years if you look at the other eyewear models from 100%. Whether in the bike park or on the trails, whether with a full face or with a half shell, like its little brother, the RACECRAFT + convinces me with clear lenses without fogging, comfort, style and durability.

Whether you choose the 100% RACECRAFT or the RACECRAFT +, in both cases you get glasses that impress in terms of fit, durability and performance. For an average additional price of 10€ you get the RACECRAFT + which seems quite fair due to the significantly higher quality of the lens and the revised face foam. A microfiber bag is included. You have to do without additional tear-offs or replacement discs.
