General: HNF Nicolai – testing and advice on the couch at home

24 October 2018 by Christian Ettl

Market: HNF Nicolai offers an e-bike test ride for everyone at home. Including personal advice and test drive at the desired address, on order. A very interesting concept and reason enough for us to try it out.

call a bike? Can this work? The idea is as simple as it is logical: test your dream e-bike on the horror climb at home. Advice on your own couch. HNF Nicolai also offers for e-bikes what has long been customary for food storage containers and vacuum cleaners. And that's where it makes a lot of sense, since the product requires a lot of advice. We presented the concept itself some time ago:

[blog specific=”87547″ order=”desc”]

"Are you going to ride the bike right here or is it to take away?"
"Deliver please!"

It doesn't work like that everywhere, especially not with e-bikes. There are usually two options: with advice from the retailer, or delivered to your home without personal advice. One inhibition can be inviting a stranger to your home. But as soon as Nedim Hasic, Regional Manager Rhein-Main, jumps out of the car, it becomes clear why the concept works: dynamic, fresh, friendly and, above all, convincingly competent.

But let's start at the beginning... Our tester Helmut looked at the HNF Nicolai website and the models and booked a test drive. That worked quite smoothly. It often even works out in the same week if you don't have a busy schedule yourself.

Scheduling an appointment works quite easily via the homepage, via the contact form, or by telephone. The sales area is divided in such a way that the respective contact person can attend several appointments per day in his area.

The HNF Nicolai test fleet then rolls to the desired location in the transporter on time. Whether you order your HNF Nicolai contact person to come to your home, to the office or to another location is up to the interested party.

The on-site consultant has the current HNF Nicolai models in different versions in his luggage. So you can get a first impression with a few short laps or with a test seat. Based on the requirements of the potential buyer, it can usually be determined quite quickly which model makes the most sense.

So fine adjustments are made to the desired bike and it goes on an extensive test lap. Only with a helmet, of course – the test bus also has one on board. This is another advantage of HNF Nicolai's home visit: You can ride the bike on your personal home tour, not just a few meters around the bike shop or at a test event.

If you roll on well-known paths, the driving experience can be compared directly with what you know from your “old” bike. You can say very clearly whether the test bike meets expectations and there are no question marks in your eyes when you go on tour with the new bike for the first time.

Subsequent to thehonor-ung, the consultant takes the time to go into details in detail. It should be the perfect size, maybe a leasing model makes sense, or insurance gives a city commuter inner peace.

Only when all questions have really been answered does the consultant set off again. A sale can have taken place, or the customer can contact you later and order by phone or by e-mail. He doesn't have to order, of course, but we were able to get Nedim to tell him that most customers feel well looked after and find their dream bike. It then comes to their front door just as reliably as Nedim with the test bikes.
