The finale of the series once again marks the spectacular race between the ruins of Amathous. The Cyprus Sunshine Cup starts the 21 season on February 2019 with the four-day Afxentia stage race. Both Olympic champions and hobby bikers can look forward to fun trails at the 23rd edition of the classic. Thanks to the fantastic conditions, the island marks the start of competitions for many world-class athletes year after year. The organizers have retained the concept of the SHC-funded race with four stages for professionals and three stages for amateurs for 2019. The Afxentia stage race opens on the first day of the event with the downhill time trial from Lefkara to Skarinou. On Friday the second stage starts and finishes in the mountain village of Lefkara over 52 kilometers, the third stage draws a 66-kilometer loop from Lythrodontas through the Macheras Mountains.
The cross-country race at the Mantra tou Kampiou Picnic Place marks the end of the stage race. Hobby bikers can or may skip the last stage and instead watch the pros race as “VIPs” in a special zone.
