MTB News: After just one year for Thömus RN Racing, Lukas Flückiger will wear the BMC jersey again. With his experience in the new-old team, the 34-year-old veteran should take on the position of captain. Additionally, BMC will have support from 2012 Olympic champion Julie Bresset.
The BMC MTB Racing Team is starting the 2019 season with significantly changed personal details. The Swiss Lukas Flückiger is returning to the team. The 34-year-old drove in black and red for five years before starting for Thömus RN Racing last season. In the BMC MTB Racing Team, he is said to have the position of captain due to his experience. The signing of Julie Bresset, who won gold in cross-country at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, is also a sensation. In an official press release, the Frenchwoman explained that the 2018 season was a nice surprise for her. She would have enjoyed the bike and her 14th place finish in the World Cup finals at La Bresse would prove she can still perform - and she knows she can do better. European Champion Lars Forster is no longer part of the BMC MTB Racing Team.
“The 2018 season was a good surprise for me. I had fun on the bike and could slowly find my way up the world ranking. My 14th place at the World Cup finals in La Bresse confirms that I can still perform and I know I can do better. How much better? I don't know yet but joining the BMC MTB Racing Team is exactly what I need to get the answer. Training for the 2019 season started after Roc d'Azur and I am now as motivated as a Junior rider.” - Julie Bresset
