Spectrum / E-Performance: The US automobile group General Motors has set itself the goal of developing safer and more sustainable mobility concepts for everyone. A step there are two new e-bikes, which are still unnamed. With a global crowdsourcing campaign, GM is now looking for great ideas.
Ever since the US automobile group General Motors committed itself to the future of electromobility, the company has focused on the development of innovative and flexible technologies. GM has already taken one of these steps with two innovative, integrated and networked e-bikes. The newly developed bikes are a foldable and a compact model. Since the customer should be involved in this new project right from the start, GM calls on bike fans around the world to come up with a name. We are looking for concise, clever and bold suggestions that give the e-bike a character. Creative name suggestions can now be submitted until Monday, November 26, 2018, 16:00 p.m. The participant with the winning name can look forward to a handsome prize of $10.000. The nine runners-up can look forward to $1.000 each. The winners will be announced in early 2019.

“We have combined our electrical engineering know-how, our design expertise and the extensive testing and quality standards that also apply to our automotive models to develop our e-bikes together with the best minds in the bicycle industry. Now we want to get even more external feedback – good ideas from people who are active and on the go every day.” – Hannah Parish, Director General Motors Urban Mobility Solutions
