Spectrum: Survey with competition: what characterizes an MTB destination?

30 January 2019 by Andrew Waldera

Spectrum: What factors actually characterize an ideal mountain bike destination for classic mountain bikers and e-mountain bikers? Gregor Pudenz and the Mountain Bike Tourism Forum Germany (MTD) are investigating these questions in their current survey. A mountain bike trail weekend in Treuchtlingen (Altmühltal) will be raffled off among all participants who answer the questions.

There is currently little information about the requirements and wishes of mountain bikers when it comes to MTB destinations. Especially in the field of E-MTB there are glaring gaps that need to be filled. In cooperation with the Mountain Bike Tourism Forum Germany (MTD), Gregor Pudenz has created an online survey that aims to address precisely these points. All mountain bikers and cyclists who like to sit on their bikes are in demand. There are a total of five filters in the survey. Each group (classic mountain bikers, e-mountain bikers, potential mountain bikers, current non-bikers and mountain bikers who ride both MTB and e-MTB) are asked specially tailored questions. It takes around 10 minutes to answer the questions. A manageable investment of time, which can also be really worthwhile personally! A mountain bike trail weekend for one person in Treuchtlingen (Altmühltal) with the organizer Bremsspur Bergradsport will be raffled off among all participants in the survey. The survey is currently running until February 17. The survey can be found at www.umfrageonline.com/s/Mountainbike-Destinationsentwicklung
