E-Performance: The Brose Drive S Mag has probably not only convinced us, because now the e-bike drive framed in magnesium is the proud winner of the Design & Innovation Award. When evaluating the products at the DIA, not only is the technology evaluated in theory, but all nominated products are put through their paces by bikers for bikers at the Kronplatz in South Tyrol in order to ensure real added value in the fast-moving bike industry.

"With the development of the Drive S Mag, we have taken a bold step forward," says Dr. Joachim Volland, Head of Brose Drive Technology. “We were the first and only manufacturer to successfully use magnesium as a material for a specially designed housing for this drive. The award shortly after the launch of the Drive S Mag confirms our course.” Due to the magnesium housing, the drive is 500 grams lighter than previous versions and also 15 percent smaller. As a result, it achieves a particularly high power density.
Impressively natural performance
The award jury rated the Brose Drive S Mag as a "new benchmark in the e-mountain bike segment" in the "Components (off-road)" category. The testers particularly liked the compact design combined with high performance, as well as the power development very natural thanks to the new "Flex Power Mode". Due to this speed and torque-dependent motor control, the Drive S Mag acts naturally and in a controlled manner on the driver's input.
About Brose drive technology
