cycling: Deutschland Tour: The tour ends in Erfurt in 2019

8 February 2019 by Michael Behringer

Germany Tour 2019

Cycling: There are still a few months until the Deutschland Tour 2019. The complete route will not be officially announced until March. But one thing is already certain: the tour will end in Erfurt. The penultimate stage also takes place in Thuringia.

Deutschland Tour 2019: Two stages end in Thuringia

The Deutschland Tour 1 will end on September 2019st. As we know since today, the overall winner can be chosen in Erfurt. In the city that is enthusiastic about cycling, the last stage should seal the tour. The pros will drive through Thuringia the day before. Further information - especially about the start of the Deutschland Tour - has not yet been officially announced.

Managing Director of the Society for the Promotion of Cycling, Claude Rach:
"With Thuringia, the Deutschland Tour 2019 is coming to a region that is enthusiastic about bicycles and cycling. Thuringia is not only a sports region, but also the talent factory of modern German cycling.”

Cycling as advertising for Thuringia

The stage location Erfurt and the Thuringia region not only make sense from a sporting point of view. The tourism industry will certainly be happy about it. Beautiful landscapes and professional organization can not only attract numerous fans for the Deutschland Tour, but also for the time afterwards.

Minister for Economics, Science and Digital Society of the Free State of Thuringia, Wolfgang Tiefensee:
“The Deutschland Tour is ideally suited to prominently advertise Thuringia. The route across Thuringia, which also features tourist highlights of the state in the reporting, promotes the state and appeals to different target groups such as tourists or potential professionals.”
