At the German Championship 2015 Emmanuel Buchman celebrate his first win as a professional. After that, the Ravensburger had to wait a long time before he could once again celebrate winning a one-day race or a tour. But the year 2019 started perfectly for the now 26-year-old. At yesterday's Mallorca Challenge, he was able to break away from his companions around 20 kilometers from the finish line and thus win the Trofeo Andratx - Lloseta with an impressive solo ride. The Belgian Tim Wellens and the Dutchman Build Mollema only places two and three remained. Bauke Mollema was third again. Buchmann: "I probably took another step forward this winter"
That yourself Emmanuel Buchman was able to improve last season, especially in the mountains, could hardly be overlooked. Eventually, he finished in the top 10 overall at the Abu Dhabi Tour, Tour of the Basque Country, Tour de Romandie, Tour de Pologne and Critérium du Dauphiné. Finishing twelfth in the Vuelta a Espana, he also proved to be competitive in a Grand Tour at the end of the season. Another step forward is to be taken in 2019.
Emmanuel Buchman:
“The year is off to a very good start. I had made up my mind to finally win this season. But I didn't think it would happen so quickly. Actually, these first races are more for training under competitive conditions. That's why I wanted to push myself properly and drove off when the opportunity arose. I think you can see that I've probably made a step forward again this winter, even though the season is still very young. So far I can definitely be very satisfied.”
