Cycling: Officials announced today that the World Championships in Road Cycling and Paracycling 2024 will take place in Zurich. The largest city in Switzerland has thus prevailed against the capital Bern.

For the fourth time, a cycling world championship is taking place in Zurich

We have known since the summer that the 2024 Road World Championships will take place in Switzerland. As applicants for the event were still the capital Bern and the world metropolis Zurich in the race. Now the Swiss association Swiss Cycling has officially confirmed that the largest city in the country has been given preference. This is the fourth time that cycling world championships will be held in Zurich after 1923, 1929 and 1946. What is new is that for the first time the Road World Championships will be held together with the Paracycling World Championships. The exact course has not yet been announced, but the pros will definitely reach the finish at the Sechseläutenplatz and first drive through the city center and along Lake Zurich.

Switzerland stands for well-organized cycle races
