cycling: Product news: Colnago e64 – e-racing bike meets traditional brand

March 28, 2019 by Florian Nowak

Product news: The latest development from Colnago follows the latest trend in the cycling world. The Colnago e64 is the first e-racing bike from the traditional brand. With its low weight and support of up to 250 watts, you can see how great Colnago is when it comes to e-racing bikes.

Few saw the latest development at Colnago coming. The Colnago e64 is the Italians' first e-racing bike. The aim of the brand is to preserve tradition, but not to ignore innovations and further developments and to keep up with the times.

The Colnago e64 should offer the best road bike performance including motor support. With an impressive weight of just 12 kilos including the battery, the e64 is quite impressive. This is made possible thanks to a very light frame and a high-quality fork
Monocoque carbon. The motor itself, including the battery, weighs 3,7 kilos.

The so-called Ebikemotion servo-assistance system, the lightest on the market according to the manufacturer, brings a power of up to 250 watts and can be connected to a specific application, significantly expanding the functions available to the user. It should also be possible, for example, to couple the motor to the heart rate. An additional motor and battery supplement is said to be available soon, which looks like a bottle and will offer additional performance.

The design of the Colnago e64 was inspired by the top racing bike model, the C64. With a Shimano Ultegra group and hydraulic disc brakes, ambitious cyclists are offered well-balanced equipment.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
