Spectrum: Already in the summer of last year, traditional manufacturer Kettler announced its big coup – none other than soccer world champion Bastian Schweinsteiger could be presented as the new brand ambassador. The first joint action will start this spring - together we want to encourage children and young people to get back on their bikes more and at the same time support the work of the association.
"Young people should basically get more exercise on their bikes again," says soccer world champion Bastian Schweinsteiger. It is not primarily about cycling as a sport, but as a feeling of freedom and a way of moving that benefits your own health and the environment in equal measure. Schweinsteiger, who is currently under contract with the Chicago Fire, also makes an appeal to parents – it is better to encourage children to cycle to training or school instead of putting them in the car.
In addition to cycling, the full-blooded soccer player Schweinsteiger also cares about clubs and youth work. That's why he came up with a special campaign together with Kettler: For every Kettler youth bike sold to a child playing in a DFB club, 25 euros go to the club's coffers. "Parents and children, who often spend a large part of their youth in the club, can give something back to the club in this way," finds Schweinsteiger.
