At the center is a merino jersey made of high-tech material, which is visually reminiscent of the glorious Hinault era and should appeal to retro fans in particular. In the announcement video for the new collection, Mavic commemorates the magnificent career of Bernard Hinault – specifically his legendary victory at Paris-Roubaix in 1981. "The Badger" started the race in the colors of the world champion in the Hell of the North; although it was by no means one of his favorite races, the external conditions were disastrous with heavy rain, and seemingly everything went against him – including seven flat tires and a collision with a poodle – he was ultimately able to raise the coveted cobblestone trophy on the Roubaix circuit. "There are days when you don't know who could beat you," Hinault recalls of that day.
