Product news: RockShox suspension forks 2020: Ultimate performance thanks to the new Charger damping?

Product news / MTB: RockShox gives an insight into the innovations for their top suspension fork models 2020 - called "Signature Series". Pike, Lyrik, BoXXer and SID get new model variants that are called Ultimate and Select. In addition, the proven Charger 2 damper will receive a comprehensive update for 2020.

New for the 2020 model year: Charger 2.1 damping

The biggest innovation in the RockShox suspension forks 2020 is the updated Charger 2.1 damper cartridge. After the well-established charger cartridge got its completely renewed successor last year, the Americans are giving it a comprehensive update for 2020. The revised shim stack is intended to help the fork with fast, hard impacts such as brake waves on the one hand, and on the other hand to provide more support in the middle travel range. In addition, there is a new piston design and newly designed seals from SKF - both of which should further improve performance. Retrofitting existing suspension forks is possible for many models - the price of the new Charger 2.1 cartridge starts at 250 euros.

RockShox Pike 2020

As the MTB all-rounder par excellence, the RockShox Pike 2020 is getting internal updates for the coming season: Two of the new variants come with the updated Charger 2.1 damper. Nothing has changed in the casting itself, except for the new silver color option for the Ultimate Top variant and the new decals.

RockShox Lyric 2020

If the spring travel or stiffness of the Pike is not enough for you, you can also rely on the tried-and-tested Lyrik next year: The 180 version of the enduro fork is up to 2020mm and here too nothing has changed on the outside apart from the decals - internally even more so: besides the new SKF wipers are also available with the new Charger 2.1 damping.

RockShox BoXXer 2020

RockShox SID 2020

The XC top model SID receives the same internal updates as the other signature models from RockShox. This includes the Charger 2.1 damping and also the updated SKF wipers. The top model with a carbon crown and shaft also comes in at an extremely light 1.481g.
