MTB News: Eight months after the World Championships in Lenzerheide, the elite of mountain bike sports meet again in Albstadt for the first time. Work continued on the fast course in Bullenäle until the very end. The World Cup weekend will open this Friday with the short track races. In order to ensure that the spectacle runs as smoothly as possible throughout the weekend, the organizer asks visitors to be careful.
The Mercedes Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in the middle of the holiday region promises exciting races and gripping duels at the highest level. The fast course in Bullenäle has already been adjusted with a view to the World Championships taking place next year. Thousands of visitors who want to experience the world stars in action up close are expected at the unique spectacle. To ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible, visitors arriving by car are asked to exercise caution. There are only a few parking spaces available in the immediate vicinity of the Zollern-Alb-Halle. From Friday to Sunday, the parking spaces north of the event area in Tailfinger city center, in the direction of Onstmettingen, on the Bol and on the Lerchenfeld should be used. Parking in the adjacent residential areas of the Zollern-Alb-Halle should be avoided, also out of consideration for the residents. In addition, the road traffic regulations are checked several times a day to enable the rescue workers to reach the site and residential areas smoothly.
This year there will also be a monitored bike depot for cyclists. Bikes can be handed in at the parking lot at the Thalia Theater in Thaliastraße on Saturday from 07:30 a.m. to 20:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 07:30 a.m. to 15:00 p.m. The latest possibility to pick up the bike is on Saturday at 22:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 17:30 p.m. In addition, a shuttle bus line 44 is offered. On Sunday, a Park & Ride service will be set up in the Groz-Beckert car park (72458 Albstadt-Ebingen, Unter dem Malesfelsen 63 and Parkweg 2). The shuttle bus runs every 08 minutes from 00:18 a.m. to 00:20 p.m. and takes visitors safely and relaxed to the event location. The event site is about five kilometers north in the Tailfingen district of Albstadt and can be reached by bus in 15 minutes. Bus line 44 runs from Ebingen - Truchtelfingen - Tailfingen - Onstmettingen - Thanheim - Bisingen and vice versa. The shuttle bus can be used free of charge by all cycling enthusiasts on Sunday to reach the event site.
