The Eightshot is styled rather simply and looks "grown-up" with consistent decor on the frame, saddle and rims. Of course, the subtle color scheme was not the first choice for our little testers. The interest of the parents increased suddenly when they were informed about the background of the still unknown supplier: Eightshot is the new sporty brand of the children's bike specialist Puky, which transfers its know-how to 20 to 27,5 inch mountain bikes . This includes the upright sitting position due to the high steering head, which gives small children in particular a better overview when cycling.

At 9,7 kilos, the bike is pleasingly light, sensibly equipped with V-brakes and tires that are not too wide. The professional of the Impac tires has enough grip for off-road trips, but is not too coarse for asphalt. The seven-speed twist shifter is easy to operate; the gear ratio is a bit narrower at 14 to 28 teeth – a lighter gear could be good going uphill.
Compared to the frame, the fork looks very slim; the pressed dropouts are equipped with eyelets for fender mounting. The grippy pedals prevent slipping; Spoke reflectors are mounted in the radially spoked front wheel as well as in the rear wheel. And a solid side stand is also on board.
