Emil climbed the podium at four FMB Diamond events and was rightly crowned Slopestyle World Champion. Celebrated as a great athlete, the Swede suffered a severe setback a short time later. Tormented by back problems and an autoimmune disease, Emil Johansson had to give up his bike. Plagued by fears that he could be separated from his bike and the sport of slopestyle forever, the Swede fought his way back into the spotlight. At the end of the 2018 season, the slopestyle superstar celebrated his comeback at the Red Bull Joyride with a sensational fourth place.
