Cycling: Jumbo - Visma made the perfect start to the 2019 Tour de France. After the first stage, the Belgian team also won the team time trial. Of course, Mike Teunissen remains in the yellow jersey and the German Tony Martin can look forward to another stage win in the Tour de France.

City tour of Brussels
Things got serious for the favorites right on the second day of the Tour de France. In the 27,6-kilometer team time trial, the entire team had to work hard for their captain. The favorite team Ineos was allowed to leave the launch pad in Brussels at 14:30 p.m. Although it was not far from the Brussels Royal Palace to the Atomium, the pros had a nice city tour through the capital of Belgium. While the spectators on site and on TV were offered great pictures, the drivers themselves will hardly have had any eyes for the sights. The split times at Park Bois de la Cambre and in the municipality of Schaerbeek were taken after 13,2 kilometers and 201 kilometers respectively. The fans were able to cheer on the second poker live. After all, in addition to winning the stage, it was also about the yellow jersey. The porter before the start - Mike Teunissen - started with his team Jumbo–Visma at the end.
Groupama – FDJ surprisingly fast
As expected, the team could Ineos Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal set a time of 29:18 on the asphalt that nobody should be able to beat anytime soon. Jakob Fuglsang was with his team Astana 21 seconds slower. Movistar around the climbers Nairo Quintana, Alejandro Valverde and Mikel Landa lost 45 seconds. Romain Bardet lost with AG2R La Mondiale even a whopping 59 seconds. But the French team was surprisingly strong Groupama - FDJ with the two Swiss Sébastien Reichenbach and Stefan Küng. As a result, leader Thibaut Pinot lost only 11 seconds to the Thomas/Bernal duo, which probably not even he would have dared to dream of. They were even significantly faster than the team, which was actually rated as stronger Trek-Segafredo. Co-favorite Richie Porte lost 57 seconds to Team Ineos.

Katusha – Alpecin & Sunweb convince
The Swiss racing team Katusha-Alpecin managed to break Ineos' best time in both the first and second splits. On the last section, however, Nils Politt, Rick Zabel and co. A few more seconds. However, with a 6-second deficit, they initially lined up behind Ineos in second place, which probably nobody would have expected before the race. This is definitely good news for classification driver Ilnur Zakarin, who was able to stay close to his teammate until the end. The German team also achieved a convincing performance Sunweb. Without Tom Dumoulin they were also only 6 seconds behind Ineos. This small gap is particularly important for Michael Matthews. The Australian can therefore try to conquer the yellow jersey on tomorrow's stage. It will be more difficult for Peter Sagan, who is with Bora-hansgrohe 26 seconds lost to Ineos.

Jumbo – Visma makes a perfect start to the Tour de France
Nobody seemed to get any closer to the time of Ineos. Also CCC and EF were 31 and 28 seconds slower. The exciting final then only heralded the Belgian teams, because also Mitchelton-Scott and Bahrain-Merida almost received a surprising smack with a gap of 41 and 36 seconds respectively. Only Deceuninck—Quick Step and Jumbo–Visma were able to challenge the Ineos team for the stage win. While Deceuninck - Quick-Step ended up being less than a second slower than Ineos, Jumbo - Visma with Tony Martin and Steven Kruijswijk managed a fabulous time. The yellow-blacks were a whopping 20 seconds faster than Ineos. The last starter pushed the first starter out of first place - and Jumbo - Visma can celebrate a perfect start into the Tour de France 2019.
