Cycling: Tom Devriendt (Wanty – Gobert) won the second stage of the Tour of Austria. The Belgian left the two Germans Jannik Steimle (Vorarlberg – Santic) and Jonas Koch (CCC) behind in a mass sprint.

Jannik Steimle takes over the overall leadership
The second stage of the Tour of Austria lived up to expectations, becoming a sprinter's race. The 176,9-kilometer route between the start in Zwettl and the finish in Wiener Neustadt was mostly flat. Heading southeast, a breakaway group initially formed, including Austrians Sebastian Schönberger (Neri Sottoli – Selle Italia – KTM), Andreas Graf (Hrinkow Advarics Cycleang), and Matthias Krizek (Felbermayr – Simplon Wels), as well as German Felix Engelhardt (Tirol KTM Cycling Team). However, the peloton caught the escapees in time, leading to the anticipated bunch sprint. Tom Devriendt (Wanty – Gobert) won the sprint ahead of the two Germans Jannik Steimle (Vorarlberg – Santic) and Jonas Koch (CCC). Overall leader Emils Liepins (Wallonie – Bruxelles) finished fourth, losing the red jersey to Jannik Steimle.
