Product news / Eurobike 2019: Even the bicycle ergonomics specialist Ergon was not stingy with innovations worth seeing at the Eurobike 2019. We were particularly interested in the new saddles for Enduro and E-Mountain, the SM Enduro Men and the SM E-Mountain Core Prime. Both saddles come with special features corresponding to the area of use.
SM Enduro Men
Developed in the Enduro World Series, the SM Enduro Men saddle, which is available in three versions, is aimed specifically at ambitious enduro and gravity riders. The narrow, short V-shape seat and the flat design should guarantee the driver maximum freedom of movement in demanding passages. The surface, which is adapted to the male anatomy, also has a relief channel in the pressure-sensitive perineal area.
So that the bike can be guided smoothly over all slopes, the designers gave the SM Enduro Men saddle sliding flanks, the SM Enduro Comp Men and SM Enduro Pro Titanium Men models also come with edge protection. The saddles are available in two saddle sizes, the price depending on the version is 79,95 euros (SM Enduro Men), 99,95 euros (SM Enduro Comp Men) or 179,95 euros for the top model SM Enduro Comp Men Solid titanium frame and carbon composite seat shell.
SM E-Mountain Core Prime
The ever-increasing E-MTB sector also places special demands on the saddle. The most important thing here is a stable seating position on long climbs and relief for the lower back. In order to be able to achieve optimal traction, the weight of the body must also be transferred evenly to the chassis via the saddle. This is exactly where the new SM E-Mountain Core Prime saddle comes in. The 3D mobility of the ergonomic core should significantly improve the application of force.
For a stable and energy-saving seating position uphill, the saddle has a steeply rising rear as a supporting ramp. On very steep ascents, the wide and comfortable saddle nose allows the e-rider to sit far forward. The SM E-Mountain Core Prime, which is available in two saddle widths, is available in anatomically adapted versions for women and men, each priced at 149,95 euros.
