News: Just in time for the start of the Tour de Eurometropole, which the newly crowned world champion Mads Pedersen will tackle as last year's winner, Trek has also supplied him with a suitable bike. The Trek Madone Project One shines in the rainbow colors of the world champion and will certainly cause one or the other envious look.
As the first race after his terrific World Championship success, Trek-Segafredos Mads Pedersen will present his customized Trek Madone SLR at this weekend's Tour d'Eurométropole in Belgium. The 23-year-old Trek-Segafredo rider won the UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire last weekend in stunning fashion, becoming the first Danish professional world champion and also the youngest in two decades.
“Mads' win was an incredible achievement. With his custom World Championship bike, we wanted to honor the new champion while honoring Madone's DNA while maintaining a clean, simple and elegant design.” – Art Director Brian Lindstrom
The Trek Madone SLR was designed by Lindstrom and Senior Product Graphic Designer Micah Moran and brought to life by Product Designer Kyle Doney at Trek's Project One paint shop in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Project One is Trek's custom bike program. It allows the rider to customize every detail of their bike, from components to colour, and offers endless paint options including Project One ICON's six premium paint finishes.
Pedersen's bespoke Trek Madone SLR is finished in classic white and features bold WM stripes on the top tube and fork. In addition to the Trek Segafredo team logo, there is also a personal touch with the words "All or nothing" and "Underdog" on the down tube.
The Trek Madone SLR in World Champion livery will also be seen this season in addition to the Tour d'Eurométropole in Italy on Tuesday 8th October at Tre Valli Varesine and on 9th October at Milan-Turin.
"I still can not believe it. Earning World Championship stripes is every rider's dream and I look forward to honoring them this season and beyond.” – said new World Champion Mads Pedersen. "
We also tested the Trek Madone SLR earlier this year. Have a look!
