Even a fall doesn't stop Van der Poel

Finally Mathieu van der Poel (Corendon – Circus) conquer. That should be the goal of many cyclocross pros at the moment. But so far nobody has succeeded. The Dutchman did not let himself be left behind in the seventh race of the season either. Although he had to start from the third row and was held up by a fall, he confidently celebrated his seventh victory in the seventh race. finished second Lauren's Sweeck (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal) 25 seconds back Toon Aerts (Telenet – Baloise Lions), who crossed the finish line just 35 seconds after the winner. Despite his victory, Mathieu van der Poel is still a long way behind in the overall World Cup because he missed the first races. Is still the leader Eli Iserbyt (Pauwels Sauzen – Bingoal), who, however, had a pitch-black day with rank 13. Things went better for the German Marcel Meisen (Corendon – Circus), who finished a strong seventh.

Mathieu van der Poel:
“It was definitely one of my best first laps. I got stuck in the first corner with a crash and wanted to take my time to get back up front. However, I immediately felt like I had really good legs”
