Product news: The Cannondale SuperSix EVO Neo is the latest eye-catcher from the US manufacturer. Because the long-established SuperSix EVO racing machine was used as a platform and equipped with a powerful electric motor.
The new Cannondale SuperSix EVO Neo combines the lightweight construction of the proven SuperSix Evo with active support from the Mahle ebikemotion X35 motor. With this unique design, the aim is to ensure that the riders can continue to benefit from the low weight, precise handling and first-class driving experience of the original and still be able to use the electric motor discreetly installed in the frame in difficult situations, such as on the mountain or in headwinds. This is not only for optical reasons but is also extremely relevant for aerodynamic reasons. Because the SuperSix EVO is one of the fastest lightweight racing bikes on the market thanks to aero optimization, we wanted to keep this advantage with the Neo version as well.
“We know that reducing drag when cycling has a significant effect on speed and performance. And of course that also applies to e-racing bikes. It's easier to go fast when there's less drag, especially when riders are pedaling above 25 km/h without power assistance.” – Nathan Barry, Cannondale Design Engineer
The aerodynamically shortened profile of the frame tubes, which can reduce drag by up to 30% compared to round tubes of similar dimensions, is inspired by the original racer and can also be found on the Cannondale SuperSix EVO Neo. At the same time, the integrated components such as the Save SystemBar, the KNØT stem and the 27 KNØT seat post ensure that the aerodynamics are further improved.
Since e-racing bikes often have the reputation of being far too heavy for regular racing use, Cannondale has combined its exclusive BallisTec carbon construction with the Mahle ebikemotion X35, the lightest drive system in the world. The top model Cannondale SuperSix EVO Neo 1 weighs only 11,3 kg in size L and impresses with agile handling, as you are used to from the original. The ebikemotion drive system consists of a light, 250 watt hub motor and a battery with a capacity of 250 Wh hidden in the frame. It offers three drive levels with optimally coordinated support up to 25 km/h, which, if necessary, provides the necessary tailwind or lift care for. The support level can be selected and the charge status of the battery can be checked while riding using the control button integrated in the top tube. This is elegantly integrated into the frame and enables a tidy handlebar.
The Cannondale SuperSix EVO Neo offers riders a whole new way of riding and connecting with their road bike, because with Cannondale Connected Technology an integrated wheel sensor can be seamlessly coupled with the Cannondale App to get precise data for speed, route and distance. In addition, relevant information about the racing bike can be provided via the smartphone and detailed service reminders can be sent.
The new Cannondale SuperSix EVO Neo electric road bike range includes three models with disc brakes, each available in small, medium and large sizes.
