Product news: The Merdia Reacto is one of the fastest bikes in the professional field and has had a number of successes over the years. To make the experience even more special, the Merida Aerobike has also been available in a special edition since model year 2018. This is also the case in 2020, where the Merida Reacto LTD is intended to represent a successful combination of light and dark.
The first Merida Reacto Special Edition was launched in 2018. Here, the theme was Northern Lights in honor of the 2017 Road World Championships in Bergen, Norway. In 2019, too, the Special Edition Your Choice caused a stir and the bikes were soon no longer available. For 2020, too, the Merida Reacto would like to shine in a special light and will be launching a new special edition for the coming model year from December 2019.
But the Merida Reacto LTD is not only very special in terms of design, because the Reacto is the current racing aero bike of the WorldTour Team Bahrain Merida. Thanks to its innovative aerodynamics and first-class comfort, it is one of the most popular aero wheels. Another big plus is the ease of servicing, as the Merida Reacto is one of the easiest aero bikes in the peloton to maintain and adjust.
A full carbon CF2 frame was used for the new Reacto LTD and, in addition to a unique design, an attractive equipment variant was also given. Of course, the design is the highlight of the bike, as it was inspired by architecture, modern interior design and the relationship between light and dark. The observant viewer will notice the arrangement of three rectangles on the head tube, positioned one above the other and blending seamlessly into the geometric design, while at the same time being based on the oldest classical Chinese text I Ching, meant to symbolize "power". The I Ching, also known as the Book of Changes, is an ancient Chinese prophecy text and the oldest of the Chinese classics. Spanning more than two and a half millennia of commentary and interpretation, the I Ching is an influential text read around the world, providing inspiration for the worlds of religion, psychoanalysis, literature and art. Inspired by this, the design should demonstrate speed, power and performance, while the built-in components should provide additional excitement.
Merida Reacto LTD – The equipment
The Merida Reacto LTD is equipped with a complete Shimano Ultegra Di2 including Ultegra discs. The innovative Merida Disc Cooler technology ensures ideal braking performance even on longer descents and in extreme braking situations, as these are constantly cooled. Furthermore, the light Merida Expert stem, the saddle with integrated mini tool and the attractive handlebars are used. The S-Flex seat post with integrated rear light makes a massive contribution to the ride comfort of the Merida Reacto LTD. To round off the new Special Edition, the high-quality and fast Reynolds AR 58 DB wheels are installed in a matching special design.
The Merida Reacto LTD will be available from December 2019.
