Advent Calendar 2019 #9: Nutcase Metroride MIPS helmet

9 December 2019 by the editorial office

Advent calendar / raffle: Nutcase, a US manufacturer of bicycle helmets, is clearly bringing color to the bicycle helmet industry with their portfolio. Out with the boring protection, because it's getting colorful. In doing so, they rely on the classic “Nutshell” and pimp it up with lots of color and practical attachments.

Nutcase Metroride: Colorful design and visibility

When it comes to design, the company, which was founded in 2000, relies on color and more color. Boring gray and black are a thing of the past and boredom is a thing of the past. Nutcase offers a total of six different helmet collections. Including a children's and a baby helmet collection. So the whole Bunt family is protected.

Colorful and eye-catching with integrated reflectors in the straps.
The subtle black variant also has reflective straps.

The Nutcase Metroride is made for commuters and those who want to become one. With the reflective straps with 3M technology, you will also be seen well in the twilight.

Nutcase Metroride: Practical Technique

The Metroride helmet is packed with all kinds of safety technology. Good handling is always taken into account. Because the locking system was developed together with FidLock. The magnetic closure snaps it in quickly and easily and is easy to release again. Nevertheless, if the worst comes to the worst, it holds up like a bomb.

The yellow MIPS insert is clearly visible.

The Nutcase Metroride also has modern MIPS technology so that the impact energy is also dissipated cleanly and the head is well protected. The movable inner shell rests on an EPS inner shell. The outer shell is made of stable polycarbonate.

The screen can also be easily removed.

The inner padding can be exchanged so that the Nutcase Metroride helmet sits comfortably. There are three different sizes from 3,6mm to 9mm thickness available.

The 310 gram helmet is available in sizes S/M and L/XL. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 119,90 euros.
