The Brose model range 2020: Always the right drive

11 January 2020 by the editorial office

E-Performance: Brose has always been a family-owned company and is now the fourth largest automotive supplier in the world. The spectrum of the Berliners extends from mechatronic systems for vehicle doors and engine cooling to electric motors for transmissions, steering and much more. With Brose Drive, the Berliners are also active in the e-bike market.

There is nothing more obvious that the concentrated competence of 200 million delivered electric motors is also used in e-bikes. For this reason, Brose decided to open an e-bike competence center in Berlin and to electrify the bicycle world with experienced Brose engineers. Over 30 manufacturers around the world now rely on Brose technology.

Brose Drive: An overview of the drives

So simple and yet so innovative. In principle, Brose offers three different model variants in the field of pedelec drives (max. 25 km/h), each with two different housings to choose from. The housing differs not only in the material, aluminum or magnesium is used here, but also in the installation dimensions.

The aluminum variant is usually a bit cheaper than the magnesium variant and also a bit larger and heavier. The material also affects performance. Because the Brose Drive Magnesium drives are also a bit stronger than the aluminum counterpart.

Brose Drive C: Made for the city

The characteristics of the Brose Drive C speak for themselves. Harmonious and persistent.

The "C" in Brose Drive C can stand for city or for cruise. It is a gentle all-rounder for a short trip into town or the way to the nearest ice cream parlour. Like all Brose Drive models, it is characterized by its low background noise and almost (super) natural support. Due to the particularly harmonious response, it is the ideal companion for everyday use.

Brose Drive T: The long-distance runner

The Brose Drive T is a powerful all-rounder, especially for endurance tours.

The touring drive from Brose, the Brose Drive T, promises full performance with enormous efficiency, exactly what you need for a nice day tour with the family. Nevertheless, the power is not lacking, thanks to its 70 Nm of torque and the maximum support of 320%.

Brose Drive S: super athlete through and through

Top performance in all disciplines and the Drive S Mag goes one better.

Sport, super, peak performance. The Brose Drive S offers the best performance data for the most demanding tasks. Nevertheless, the response of the drive remains quite sensitive. Thanks to the exclusive "Flex Power Mode", the Brose Drive S Mag delivers an even more lively driving experience. The high torque of 90 Nm and the maximum support of 380% or 410% bring even experienced bikers effortlessly to every summit.

Brose displays: operating concept powered by Brose

Without a proper operating concept, the entire drive system will not work properly. In terms of appearance and size, Brose is taking three different approaches, which differ greatly in terms of the level of information, size and display.

Brose battery: The latest addition to the Brose family

Universally applicable and shapely. The Brose display all-round, is, as the name suggests, a universally applicable control element. Attention is paid to the installation dimensions without showing relevant display information too small or not at all. It can be mounted on the left or right of the handlebar, depending on space and personal needs.

The Brose DisplayRemote is a standalone minimal version of an operating unit. This takes up remarkably little space and yet provides all the important information once you get the hang of the status LEDs. In this way, the battery charge level and the support level can be read off. Like the Display Allround, the Brose Display Remote can be installed on either the left or the right.

Brose DisplayCentral is the largest display (3,5 inches) and also provides the most information and everything with the best legibility. The Display Central is mounted in the middle of the cockpit and operated in combination with the Brose Display Remote. The Display Remote can be mounted on the left or right at any time.

Brose Battery 630: operating concept powered by Brose

The Brose Battery 630 fits elegantly into the e-bike frame and is still very easy to remove. As a result, the patented fastening mechanism offers two major advantages: the battery is fastened in the best possible way under heavy loads and only one lock needs to be opened to remove it. In this way, the Brose Battery 630 can collect new energy in the apartment or in the hut on the charger and is ready for the coming use.
