E-Performance: After about three years, after the first Merida eOne-Forty was always in the top lists, the fitting successor was presented in the summer of 2019. This was previously only available with a carbon frame triangle. But now the Merida eOne-Forty Limited Edition Full Suspension E-Bike is also available with an aluminum frame triangle.
Merida eOneForty: Sophisticated driving characteristics
Similar to the carbon versions, the eOne-Forty Limited Edition has combined wheel sizes. The front wheel is equipped with easy-rolling 29-inch wheels that simply swallow every obstacle and wide 650B wheels are used at the rear for the necessary grip.
With this combination of wheels, the 140mm travel also feels like a lot more. In terms of suspension travel, the Merida eOneForty is not a classic all-mountain e-bike, but can also be used on trails and enduro.
To keep it quiet and uncluttered, the One-Forty Limited Edition features full internal cable routing with the added innovation of an internal clamp inside the down tube. This clamp also provides a mounting position for a water bottle cage. The new aluminum frame (with the exception of the S) offers space for a 0,75 liter drinking bottle. A total of five sizes are offered to give all riders the opportunity to find the perfect fit.
Merida eOne Forty: Shimano STEPS E8000 provides propulsion
For the drive, Merida relies on proven and reliable Shimano technology. The motor is the well-known Shimano E8000 STEPS drive, which is brought to life by the new Shimano E8035 battery. Like its predecessor, it has a nominal capacity of 504 Wh, but can be integrated much better.
The battery is fully integrated into the frame and easily accessible by removing the Energy Guard battery cover. The battery can then be unscrewed with a 4 mm Allen key, so that the charging process takes place independently of the bike and the battery can be replaced super quickly and easily.
Merida eOne-Forty: well thought-out details
In addition to the mud fenders that are already installed ex works, the full suspension e-mountain bike has a well thought-out chainstay protection which, thanks to the wavy profile, reduces chain rattling to a minimum.
In order to give a tidy picture in the cockpit as well, all electrical and control cables can be routed internally in the handlebars and past them thanks to the Expert ETR cockpit. The power button is also integrated very nicely.
Another interesting tool is the Merida Mini Toolbox, which attaches directly to the underside of the saddle. Included is a mini tool that has 2/2,5/3/8mm Allen keys, a flat head and Phillips screwdriver, and 10/25/30 Torx keys. Perfect for almost any repair along the way.
