Cycling: The German team Sunweb can celebrate the next victory at the Herald Sun Tour. Australia's Jai Hindley won the hill finish up to Falls Creek.

Jay Hindley (Sunweb) has taken the helm at the Herald Sun Tour. The Australian knew how to assert himself up to Falls Creek and clinched his most important victory to date. The only 23-year-old was able to climb up the final climb together with his teammate RobertPower (Sunweb), Neilson Powless (EF), Damien Howson (Mitchelton-Scott) and Sebastian Berwick (St. George Merida) and finally hold their own in the last few meters.

The peloton was already divided before the final climb. So the first breakaway group of the day was caught relatively early. Lachlan Morton (EF) then tried to be a soloist. Also thanks to his preparatory work, the pace was kept up in the decimated main field and teammates Neilson Powless was able to fight for fourth place, albeit 13 seconds behind. With winner Jay Hindley the runner-up finished at the same time Damien Howson And the third Sebastian Berwick.
Even if they couldn't compete for victory, two Germans in particular presented themselves as helpers in an impressive form. Florian Stork (Sunweb) finished 13th, Jonas slip (EF) in 16th place.
