Cycling: EF again won the team time trial at the opening of the Tour Colombia. As in the previous year, the team from the USA prevailed in the battle against the clock. Jonathan Klever is the first to wear the leader's jersey.

EF dominates the team time trial
Team EF won the Colombia Tour opener in Tunja. So tomorrow becomes the Ecuadorian Jonathan Klever (EF) start in the jersey of the overall leader. The EF team completed the 16,7-kilometer flat course at an altitude of 2.800 meters 45 seconds faster than Deceuninck – Quick-Step and 46 seconds faster than Ineos. With this relatively large lead, the EF pros now have the best chance of winning the Tour Colombia in the overall standings. Among others, the Colombians Rigoberto Uran, Daniel Martinez and Sergio Higuita are represented in the squad.
Steimle is the only German at the start
The Tour Colombia has six stages and ends on Sunday on the Alto del Verjón. The decision about the overall victory will then also be made on the final stage, since it is rightly considered the king's stage together with the mountain finish. Will not defend last year's win Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana). The Colombian is not at the start with his Kazakh team this season. Austrians are also completely absent from the start list. Jannik Steimle (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) is the only German in Colombia to make his season debut for his Belgian team. Represent the Swiss colors Matteo Badilatti (Israel Start Up Nation), Patrick Schelling (Israel Start Up Nation), Simon Pellaud (Androni – Giocattoli – Sidermec) and Oliver Behringer (Novo Nordisk).
