Track Cycling World Championships in Berlin: Bronze for the German women in the team pursuit

February 27rd 2020 by Michael Behringer

Track Cycling World Championships Berlin

Track cycling: On the second day of the Track Cycling World Championships in Berlin, the German fans were able to celebrate a medal. The women won bronze in the team pursuit. In the men's category, the Danes once again smashed the world record they set yesterday.

The Danes put everyone in the shade

The highlight of the second day of the Track Cycling World Championships in Berlin were undoubtedly the team pursuit competitions. In the case of the women, the local fans on Landsberger Allee even had reason to be happy. Because Franziska Brausse, Lisa Brennauer, Lisa Klein and Gudrun Stock were able to secure another medal for the BDR with bronze. Gold went to the US ahead of Britain. With an absolutely fabulous time, the men from Denmark pulverized their world record, which was only set yesterday. This time the clock stopped at 3:44,672. Lasse Norman Hansen, Julius Johansen, Frederik Rodenberg and Rasmus Pedersen easily defeated New Zealand in the final. Bronze went to Italy.

Bötticher misses a medal in the keirin and Beyer in the scratch

In the women's sprint, Emma Hinze qualified for the semifinals today. Tomorrow she will fight Hong Kong's Wai Sze Lee for a place in the final here. Stefan Bötticher in Keirin and Maximilian Beyer in Scratch got nothing there today. Gold went to Harrie Lavreysen from the Netherlands and Yauheni Karaliok from Belarus.
