Short news: Today, Wednesday, the Federal Chancellor and the heads of government of the federal states agreed on further action to contain the corona virus. For bicycle dealers and customers there is reason to breathe a sigh of relief!
After weeks of closed sales rooms in specialist bicycle shops, we received good news today:
Bicycle dealers should be allowed to open again on April 20th!
This emerged from the federal-state agreement on the Corona measures. Regardless of the sales area, the bicycle trade can start again under (hygiene) conditions. However, the contact restrictions, which have been extended until May 3rd, remain unchanged.
A welcome step, as the bicycle has established itself as an infection-proof and important form of mobility during these difficult times.
This is also shown by the fact that the federal government explicitly names bicycle shops in the same breath as car dealers:
ZEG dealers are already presenting hygiene measures
As the two-wheeler shopping cooperative with its brands such as Bulls, Pegasus, Zemo, Kettler-Alu-Rad, Flyer and Hercules reports, precautions are already being taken to ensure safe and carefree shopping for the forthcoming opening of the specialist bicycle trade. These include:
- Regular disinfection of the exhibition bikes (especially handlebars and saddle)
- Regular disinfection of the shop infrastructure
- Fast and ideally contactless payment process at the checkout
- Wearing of protective masks by staff
- On request, provision of sterile protective masks for customers (if available)
