Bradley Wiggins - A Year in Yellow
Exactly eight years ago today, Bradley Wiggins won the fifth stage of the Tour de Romandie. It was an individual time trial and therefore the specialty of the Briton. Actually nothing unusual, but after he had just won the Paris – Nice tour, he had now raced to overall victory in this multi-stage race in Switzerland. A development that no one would have believed him capable of many years before. Because until 2009 he was only a good track and time trialist. No one would have believed him capable of keeping up with the best in the high mountains and even leaving them behind. But then everything changed. He reduced his weight and trained specifically for the mountains. At the same time, he managed not to lose his strength in the fight against the clock. In 2009 he finished third in the Tour de France and in 2011 in the Vuelta a Espana.
Wiggins wins the tour and takes Olympic gold
2012 was supposed to be THE year of Bradley Wiggins. After his overall victories in Paris – Nice and the Tour de Romandie, he also won the Critérium du Dauphiné. At least now everyone knew that the Brit was definitely to be reckoned with. Then came the Tour de France - and that's exactly what the documentary is about Bradley Wiggins - A Year in Yellow. John Dower accompanied the Sky professional with a camera team on his biggest victory. With pictures of the route and statements from the pro, the viewer gets a great insight into the exciting project, which was to reach its high point with the overall victory at the Tour de France 2012 and Olympic gold in London.
