GCA League #4: Erath & Banusch win the mass sprint

10 May 2020 by Michael Behringer

GCA LEAGUE

Cycling: The fourth race of the GCA league was supposed to end with two bunch sprints yesterday. While Richard Banusch had reason to celebrate in the men's category, Tanja Erath won in the women's category.

GCA Liga: Banusch and Erath win heat #4

On the fourth day of the GCA League, the participants had to prove their skills in the Zwift world of Watopia. Three laps had to be covered on the Tick Tock route, which corresponded to more than 50 kilometers. In the women's race as well as in the men's, a sprint in a larger group should bring the decision. But it almost didn't come to that, because a late attack by Justin Wolf almost led to success. In the end, however, he couldn't prevent a mass sprint either. This was won by Richard Banusch ahead of two-time winner Lucas Carstensen. For the women, a much smaller group arrived together. Tanja Erath picked up her sprint very early and was able to pull it through to the end with ease. Lucas Carstensen and Romy Kasper continue to lead in the overall standings.
