Product news: The direct mailer Last is obviously stoking the fire properly this year. Just a few weeks ago, the Dortmund-based company launched the Glen SL model, a genuine all-round MTB with MX genes, and now the Tarvo is an extremely light enduro with bike park approval. According to Last, the frame with 160 mm of travel weighs just 2,08 kilograms and offers the rider unprecedented performance.

With the new Tarvo, Last Bikes wants to set new standards in the Enduro segment. The vision of the Dortmund company was not only to build the lightest enduro, but above all to present a fast and easy-to-control bike. When developing the new bike, the developers came up with a few ideas. The front and rear sections of the carbon frame are each manufactured as a whole in one mould. The frame, weighing from 2,08 kilograms, is laminated by the carbon lightweight specialists from All Ahead in Würzburg. Thanks to the monocoque construction without splices, the laminate structure has no weak points. Heavy joints, where material is doubled, are therefore completely eliminated. The Enduro was tested in tough tests by EFBE Prüftechnik. The result of the tests and practical tests is the release of the bike for use according to the highest category (5) of ASTM F2043-13. Last Bikes goes far beyond the legal minimum with the guarantee and gives a 5-year guarantee on the Tarvo.

Full complement stainless steel bearings from Endurobearings in the dimensions 28x15x7 are used at all heavily loaded bearing points. The screw connections of the main bearing and bellcrank bearing are designed in size M14, the threaded inserts are made of titanium. As usual from Last, the Tarvo should also have very progressive kinematics. According to the information provided, this is achieved with the suspension system based on a flexpivot and a reversing lever. Here, the direction-dependent stiffness of the carbon is used to form an elastic, light and completely backlash-free and maintenance-free joint. The flat steering angle of 64 degrees should guarantee the rider fun downhill. The balanced ratio of reach to chainstay length should also ensure a lively and playful character of the Last Enduro. The length of the chainstays, the seat tube angle and the bottom bracket height are adjusted to suit the size.
Tarvo with MX option: 170 mm travel and 27,5″ wheel at the front
It's also worth taking a look at the fine details of the new enduro. In the down tube, useful things such as a tube, pump, tools, muesli bars or similar can be stowed away under a cover on the frames with a storage compartment. Last recommends using special bags for this, which are sold separately. With this frame design, the bottle holder mount is integrated in the lid. However, the surcharge for the storage compartment is 199 euros. If you want to combine the advantages of 29 inches and 27,5 inches in one bike, the Tarvo with MX option and 170 mm suspension travel is ideal. The smaller rear wheel offers the rider more freedom of movement and greater rigidity. Each individual frame is custom built in the manufactory in Dortmund. In addition to raw - the lightest variant without paint - the frame can also be ordered in blue matt metallic. Individual color requests are possible on request and at an additional cost.
