News: Register by June 19th and collect donations on the bike to your own donation account for McDonald's children's aid.
The Corona crisis is also having an impact on sporting events - and especially those that are backed by a charitable purpose have a negative impact on people in need. To prevent this, McDonald's Children's Aid came up with something very special. The Foundation runs 22 Ronald McDonald Houses in Germany, where parents and siblings can live while the young patients are treated in the nearby hospital, as well as six Ronald McDonald Oases within clinics.
McDonald's Children's Aid supports 14.000 families every year to be there for sick children
The foundation helps around 14.000 families in Germany every year, and by taking part in the SOLOCharity Ride on June 28, 2020, every cyclist can ensure that it stays that way. Sports moderator and patron Nele Schenker explains how it works: "Everyone drives for themselves, and we are all on the road together for families of seriously ill children. Your and our hearts are with you on the route.” The athlete herself is already busy on her racing bike and collecting donations.
Registration for the SOLOCharityRide is possible until June 19th. The entry fee is a one-time fee of 20 euros; With the registration, a donation page is created at the same time, through which friends and acquaintances can support the participation with an online donation to the children's aid. Everyone can take part on the big day in June, whether as a racing bike professional, MTB crack or with a leisurely family tour. Under the hashtag #solocharityride, the riders keep in touch with each other on social media, motivate each other and cycle kilometer after kilometer for a good cause. Everyone for themselves – and yet all together!
