Product news: The tire manufacturer Schwalbe is now launching its tubeless valves in three different shaft lengths. With lengths of 40, 60 and 100 millimeters, all common rim heights can be used without the need for a valve extension. Technical details on the valve base have also been revised and improved.
The new Schwalbe valve trio with shaft lengths of 40, 60 and 100 millimeters offers the right valve length for all common rim heights. The advantage is that with the right shaft length, valve extensions are no longer necessary, which also eliminates the risk of air loss. But not only the valve length has changed. The inner diameter at the valve base has been increased from 2,4 to 4 millimeters so that the air and sealing milk can flow through the valve much better and the risk of valve blockages caused by sealing milk particles is minimized. The Allen socket and the shorter cone also offer advantages. According to Schwalbe, the valve foot can be mounted more firmly in the rim with an Allen key without over-tightening the foot. Thanks to the shortened cone, the valve base sinks even deeper into the valve hole. This in turn reduces the installation height and the tire beads find more space in the rim. With the new, large-sized O-ring, the valve should adapt optimally to the different rim contours. Schwalbe's new tubeless valves will be available in specialist bike shops from the end of July 2020.
“So far, there has been a certain reluctance among some drivers and specialist dealers to use tubeless technology. With our new tubeless valves, handling and mounting tubeless tires has become even easier” – Johannes Binner, Schwalbe Marketing
