Test: The one for all - the dream of many bikers. At least as far as E-MTBs are concerned, the Flyer Uproc3 6.50 comes very close to this dream. Quite potent enough for demanding trails, but not too sporty to scare off touring riders. The bike is excellently balanced, even if you buy the versatility with compromises on both sides.

The confederates from Flyer can undoubtedly be described as e-bike pioneers: For more than 20 years they have been fully committed to electrified bicycles. What is still a common thread today: A flyer is always immediately recognizable as a flyer. In the case of the Uproc3 6.50, this is mainly due to the striking recess behind the head tube. But this is more than an optical gimmick, all lines and cables are also neatly and elegantly routed inside the frame.

Test: With its relaxed geometry, comfortable chassis and smooth-rolling tires, the KTM Macina Chacana is primarily aimed at touring e-mountain bikers. Versatile driving characteristics
With 140mm or 130mm of travel, the bike, which is quite heavy at almost exactly 25kg, occupies a travel range between a comfortable tourer and a sporty trail bike. This is exactly how the Uproc rides in practice: A comfortable seating position with a good dash of sportiness ensures intuitive handling and a real feel-good atmosphere on the saddle. You pedal from an upright, central seating position and receive active support from the latest Bosch CX motor. The drive from the Swabians can once again prove the great balance between power, sensitivity and naturalness and thus fits in perfectly with the all-round character of the Uproc.

The Fyler delivers a thoroughly solid performance on the climbs without being able to set any major highlights. As long as it doesn't get too steep or technical, there's absolutely nothing to complain about here; I especially like the nicely sensitive rear end, as it doesn't slide too far into the suspension travel. Thanks to the wide range of the SX Eagle circuit from Sram, you can find a suitable gear even for borderline steep passages.
The Uproc3 6.50 then presents itself on the trails in a similarly convincing manner, and even a bit better overall. The RockShox chassis with 35 Gold fork at the front and the Deluxe Select+ damper then offers a surprising amount of counter pressure and thus some reserves, even when things get a bit rough. The tires also have potential: the 2,6-inch wide High Roller II from Maxxis find their way around in almost all soil conditions. The geometry then proves to be the limiting factor in demanding terrain. Here, the steep steering angle and the short main frame mean that the bike does get quite nervous at high speeds.
Suitable for everyday use also thanks to MonkeyLink
A very practical feature are the MonkeyLink mounting points at the front and rear. Correspondingly compatible lamps can be attached by magnet and are supplied with energy directly from the battery. An equally easy-to-attach fender is even available for the rear wheel. Finally, a big compliment to Flyer: As one of the very few manufacturers, the Swiss include a fast 6A charger.
