Shimano Rocko: All-round backpack with optional hydration bladder

August 28, 2020 by the editorial office

Backpacks: Which bike backpack is the right one? Regardless of whether it is a day trip or a multi-day trip, the right backpack must offer enough storage space and it must not be too heavy. The back system should nestle comfortably against the back, but at the same time be breathable. The carrying system must not chafe or constrict and must hold the backpack in place. The Shimano Rokko series is a true all-round talent and can do two things: on-road and off-road. It cuts just as good a figure on trail rides at the weekend as it does in everyday use in the city.

Shimano Rokko: space for everything important

Whether in the 8, 12 or 16 liter version: the Rokko has space for everything that is needed on a day tour, on the way to the city or on an extended weekend tour. Depending on your needs, the lightweight bike backpack can be equipped with a hydration bladder. The breathable back panel in combination with the well-ventilated carrying system ensures comfort and a good fit. Chest and hip straps provide additional stability. Small items such as energy bars or the key for the bike lock can be easily stowed away in the easily accessible waist belt pockets so that they are always to hand.

Shimano Rokko: clever details

The Rokko is equipped with a clever tool organizer that allows tools or other things to be neatly stored in the main compartment. The stretch side pockets (except for the 8 liter version) allow further storage options, for example for an additional water bottle, the front pocket with key holder, and the felt-lined fleece pocket for safely storing valuables. Bicycle helmet, goggles and rear light find their place on the specially designed loops. Not only are your hands free when strolling through the city, but you can also attach a rear light for additional visibility on the road in poor light conditions. The pockets are easy to open and close thanks to the large flaps, even with long-fingered gloves.

The hydration bladder: the perfect complement

The Rokko models can be supplemented with a drinking bladder. A high-quality drinking system from Hydrapack is available here. The reversible liquid container can be turned completely inside out for easy cleaning and drying. FDA-approved, BPA-free TPU material is used for the canister, tubing, and bite valve to prevent bacterial and mold growth. The 45-degree Surge bite valve allows for effortless drinking. The RRP is €2 for the 27,50 liter size and €3 for the 29,95 liter size.
