Lombardy Tour: Remco Evenepoel falls down a bridge

August 15, 2020 by Michael Behringer

Evenepoel Lombardy

Cycling: Heavy fall in the Lombardy tour. Remco Evenepoel fell off a large bridge about 45 kilometers from the finish.

Evenepoel is conscious

He was THE top favorite to win the Tour of Lombardy. Remco Evenepoel (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) is considered THE super talent in cycling. But today he does not provide any positive news. The only 45-year-old Belgian fell about 20 kilometers from the finish line. He fell down a bridge and had to wait a few minutes for the rescue to be successful. In a descent, Remco Evenepoel lost control and fell down an embankment on a bridge over the demarcation. Exact information about his condition is not yet available. However, we learned via Eurosport that he appears to be conscious.
