Product news: Fizik Terra Aidon E-MTB saddles

September 17, 2020 by Florian Nowak

Product news: With the new Fizik Terra Aidon E-MTB saddle models, the specialist for saddles and co. is expanding its product range in the off-road area and offers e-mountain bikers special seating for off-road rides. The special feature is a wavy shape, which to ensure that the driver is in the optimum position to master even the steepest climbs. The new Fizik Terra Aidon E-MTB model is available either with light carbon struts in the X1 version or with the Kium metal struts in the X3 version.

With the new Terra Aidon X1 and X3 E-MTB saddle models, Fizik is introducing sporty e-bikers on their tours. Since e-bikes and their drives are constantly getting better and lighter and enable longer, harder rides, it is important to adjust the other components on the bike to the area of use. You should take a particularly close look when it comes to the saddle, because due to the e-support, riders spend significantly more time sitting down than with conventional mountain bikes, since you get up more often to accelerate or to overcome obstacles. Staying in command from a seated position requires a stable, reliable platform to ensure a balanced ride.

To meet these challenges, Fizik has developed the new Terra Aidon saddle specifically for the needs of e-bikers. The main goal was to provide more comfort over long periods of time in the saddle. On rough rides, proprietary Type 2 foam provides progressive cushioning that's thicker around the sit bones, supporting a more upright posture. A deep center cutout provides additional pressure relief.

The Fizik Terra Aidon has been slightly shortened compared to similar saddle models to ensure a secure rider position and full freedom of movement throughout the ride. A smooth profile allows for easy transitions and better control of the bike, while the slightly sloping 'tail' keeps the rider in position when the going gets tough uphill or the drivetrain pushes hard.

The new Fizik Terra Aidon is available with the X1 frame system X1 Lightweight Carbon for 179 euros or in the X3 Ultra Strong Kium alloy for 139 euros. Both come in their proprietary Mobius closed-loop configuration for unmatched durability and support, and are available now.
