Product news: Look presents its first flat pedals

September 15, 2020 by Florian Nowak

Product news: The French manufacturer Look, the inventor of the clipless pedal, is now launching its first flat pedals. In close cooperation with Vibram, a striking and individually adaptable Look flat pedals collection for city and off-road riders is launched.

Designed in close collaboration with outdoor manufacturer Vibram, the new Look flat pedals Geo City Grip and Trail Grip are manufactured at Look in
Nevers produces. Whether cruising through town or adventuring off-road, every rider will find the best pedals for their needs and individual riding style in the new Look Flatpedals range. Both models are characterized by their individual color combinations, which should make every driver happy.

The pads of the new Look flat pedals are made of flexible rubber, which is made with the exclusive Look Active Grip technology. This technology was developed together with Vibram to create the best connection between pedal and shoe ever. For more than 80 years, the Italian brand Vibram has stood for quality, performance and safety with its distinctive yellow octagon logo. The Geo City Grip and Trail Grip pedals are no exception. With maximum grip and high abrasion resistance, the pads are durable and long-lasting enough for cyclists to enjoy these pedals for a long time.

The composition and shape of the Look Active Grip Pads are designed to ensure a safer and more grippy surface on the pedal for city and outdoor shoes. The Geo City Grip Pedals have grooves of different heights and orientations on the rubber to ensure a comfortable position on the pedal. Carefully positioned channels in the pedal channel rain or splashes of water from passing road users. The Trail Grip Pedal is concave and has wide rubber lugs that add stability to the foot and give the pedal durability. In this way, they meet the requirements of any terrain. For the Geo City Grip version, the Vibram XS Trek compound is used. This special compound allows for high overall performance, especially in terms of flexibility and adhesion. The composition of this mixture is designed for stability and offers a high level of comfort, which is further enhanced by the special construction of the upholstery. The compound in the Trail Grip compound is called Vibram Megagrip, best in class for grip - especially when wet - and durability.

In addition, Look has developed a pedal that is unparalleled anywhere in the world: a flat pedal
with integrated light. As safety on the roads has never been more important than today, Looks Geo City Vision offers a stylish solution to help drivers stay visible. The pedals have two integrated lights per pedal with an operating time of 20 hours, as well as the choice between night, day and flashing light. The lights can be easily attached to the pedal with an intelligent magnetic locking system and are fully protected against rain with a waterproof rating of IPX 7.
