Product news: The new Orbea Gain was developed to support sporty riders where it is really necessary, without influencing the riding experience and other important road bike-typical factors. This is primarily made possible by the so-called “Enough Energy” concept. This ensures that only as much energy is used as necessary without restricting the support. By means of a drive in the rear wheel hub and a simple design, you get decent e-road bike power where it is needed.
The Orbea Gain is an e-racing bike where the development focus was on the Theam racing bike. It's designed to enhance and support rides, not add character to the ride. Orbea's so-called Enough Energy concept is one of the main features of the new Orbea Gain and results in an exceptionally light, sporty and agile e-road bike. After several hours of development work, the gain could be designed in such a way that one the driving experience, the integration, the safety and the entire experience for the sporty driver even more authentic and pleasant.
Orbea Gain - Enough Energy concept
The Enough Energy concept is a new way of riding and the Gain is a new kind of e-bike, as the Spanish manufacturer puts it. Minimalist, integrated and elegant without bulky components to reduce the riding experience and bring the rider closer to the feeling that less "E" ultimately means more "Bike".
When it comes to enough energy, of course, the necessary power should not be missing. Here comes the new one engine of the Gain to use. The EBike-Motion X35 Plus hub drive is not only the heart of the bike but is also primarily responsible for the sporty performance including e-support. The sophisticated drive system provides reliable, smooth motor assistance at levels designed to ease, not rule, your ride. Since the motor is located directly on the rear wheel hub, you have a very direct power transmission without being slowed down at higher speeds or in off mode.
For an even better driving experience, the engine has been equipped with a new torque simulation. The result: a significantly more natural response of the support. The engine settings have also been adjusted to bring the feeling of support much closer to the usual racing bike feeling. There is also a new display with an improved screen that is not only easier to read, but also provides all the necessary information about the tour. The support levels can also be switched through using the two buttons.
Since the battery is one of the most noticeable parts of an e-bike system, every effort has been made to make it as small, light and discreet as possible. Thanks to the special tuning and the "Enough Energy" concept, the Gain always provides exactly the support you need instead of consuming energy unnecessarily. This eliminated the big, heavy and bulky batteries and made the Orbea Gain so simple and appealing.
Since the Orbea Gain, like any other racing bike, was built for long, demanding tours, a range extender was developed in addition to the integrated 248 Wh battery, which offers another 208 Wh capacity and thus brings up to 456 Wh in total.
The Gain's control center consists of an elegant and discreet button on the top tube and a bike computer installed on the stem. The colorful LED lights provide all the information you need. In addition, all Gain models have an intuitive display with all the necessary information.
Orbea Gain - More road bike
The gain was also developed on the basis of the sporty and high-quality Orbea Orca models in order to enable classic racing bike performance despite the electric drive. The cables and cables of all Gain models have been completely hidden using the ICR+ system, including parts such as the speed sensor or the motor cables, which have disappeared inside the frame for a clean and elegant look. Nevertheless, easy maintenance should be possible. In addition, the Gain is the first e-racing bike with daytime running lights integrated into the display mount and seat clamp.
The new geometry, with a lowered bottom bracket and shorter chainstays, ensures a safe riding experience, which is particularly important for beginners. The lower center of gravity offers more stability without compromising the agility of the bike. All Gain road models roll on 700×30 tubeless tires for added safety, efficiency and comfort.
