Product news/components: The Hayes Dominion T2 in the limited edition should offer good performance, a lot of sensitivity and great reliability, with which the Dominion was already able to convince. And that in its lightest chassis to date. Featuring a Reynolds-designed carbon fiber lever, titanium hardware, a composite reservoir cap, aluminum backing pads and precision machining to reduce weight, the Dominion T2 is 254g lighter per brake (50g) than the Dominion A2.
Hayes Dominion T2: Proven Technology
The Dominion T2 follows the Dominion philosophy of a low maintenance system with predictable, progressive response and a crisp bite. This is achieved in part through a combination of an additional slip ring on the master cylinder piston and sealed ball bearings at the lever pivot to reduce overall friction and provide a feather-light lever feel. Thanks to the Stable Rate Linkage (SRL) system, the brake lever provides a constant leverage ratio regardless of the lever position.
Hayes Dominion T2: Precise and constant control
Every Dominion brake is factory set to have the lowest possible "dead travel" to ensure precise braking engagement. As soon as you start moving the lever, the pads begin their journey to the brake discs. This gives the rider the ability to keep the levers close to the handlebars, increasing control while riding. The bite point can also be adjusted with a 2mm hex key to keep the feel consistent between front and rear wheel or to further tune the feel of the brake to personal preference. The lever width can also be adjusted with a 2 mm Allen key.
The maintenance of the Hayes Dominion T2 should be simplified by a few well thought-out design features. A double syringe method is used as the bleeding method to gently push in new brake fluid and remove air bubbles. The 2-stroke dual bleed system adds an extra level of precision to the bleed process by allowing the bleed to the caliper to be isolated where air bubbles can hide behind the pistons.
Hayes Dominion T2: Weight optimization through add-on parts
The FEA-optimized D-Series rotors are purposely designed to oppose those of the Semi-Met T106 and sintered T100 pads to help suppress noise and vibration. The Dominion T2 uses aluminum backing plates on the standard Semi-Met T106 pads to further reduce weight. Titanium mounting bolts are included with each T2 brake kit for additional weight reduction.
The Hayes Dominion T2 is a limited edition with only 500 brake sets available worldwide.
