Full perspective: Start autumn with the new Oakley models!

20 October 2020 by Florian Nowak

Product news: The cycling season is slowly coming to an end, at least in this country, and even if the pros still have a lot to do due to the changed calendar, for most of us the last rides begin before winter training begins. But since we still have a few sunny autumn days left, we want to use them, especially this year, and spend them on our bikes. Suitable for the golden season, Oakley is expanding the Sutro range with S sizes for small faces and with the Sutro Lite Blade for retro looks. In addition, the various performance models come with the special Oakley Prizm Trail Torch glass, which was specially made for difficult lighting conditions and is perfect for autumnal MTB and Gravel tours.

Better vision thanks to Prizm Trail Torch and Photochromic lenses

Especially for fall, Oakley has expanded its famous Prizm technology and expanded the glass Prizm Trail Torch for trail environments. The Prizm Trail Torch lens is available in all of Oakley's popular sport-performance models, including the two best-selling Oakley EVZero Blades and the Sutro. The Prizm Trail Torch was designed primarily to provide better visibility in difficult lighting conditions by increasing color vibrancy, enhancing contrast and improving depth perception. This is how you want to enable the best view in the autumn trail surroundings, whether in the light deciduous forest, exposed sandy trail or between alpine trees.

But as the days get darker and the weather more unstable, Oakley builds on the success of the Clear Collection with two new models in its Photocromic collection. Here comes the EVZero Blades and Radar EV Pitch. Both frames feature Photochromic technology, which automatically darkens the lens to adapt to changing UV light levels.

New Oakley Sutro models for small heads and retro fans

In a relatively short time, the Oakley Sutro became an absolute long-running hit, so that you almost want to call it a "classic". That's why new colors and a scaled down version for cyclists with small faces are coming.

The Oakley Sutro can now be rocked in six new color variants to match your everyday style on and off the bike. With the Shield glass that runs far up, this frame also offers ideal protection against wind, cold, rain or even snow in autumn and winter. Combined with the proven Prizm lens technology, you ensure the best view in every situation. Two of the new color variants, Polished Black/Celeste and Navy/Balsam, are part of the Snow Collection 2020 and are therefore ideal for alpine use or for a stylish appearance away from the mountains.

The Origins collection has something for everyone who prefers a different style. Because here you connect the past with the future. The collection includes three different colorways, all inspired by the original Razor Blades and fitted with Oakley's Prizm lenses. The new Origins collection rekindles the same passion that made the brand a pioneer in sports performance.

Anyone who likes the Sutro, but doesn't really want to fit it, should be particularly happy with the new Sutro S. Because for smaller faces, the Sutro S offers a smaller version of the Sutro with a slightly narrower basic shape.

More than Florian Nowak

Florian Nowak is a professional cyclist at the EuropeTour level and has competed in many international races. At the German championship in 2017, he was the best non-WorldTour professional in 7th place and was therefore able to recommend himself for the Tour de L'Avenir and the World Championships. But he doesn't just feel comfortable on the racing bike, he's also always drawn to off-road terrain. In addition to sport, he works on his second mainstay and has completed his business administration studies at the LMU Munich.
