Product news: Pro is expanding its premium range with new tools, tools and pumps and wants to impress professional mechanics and hobby mechanics alike with precision and ease of use.
Just in time for the start of the new season, Pro comes with a new series of tools, pumps and tools. The new products can be found in the Pro Team Tools, Pro Performance Tools and Pro Team Pumps collections. The highlights should include the Team Series digital torque wrench with LCD display, the mini torque wrench with preset torque levels and a new premium damper pump with drain valve for the finest suspension tuning.
"Our product developers at Pro always try to provide the widest possible range of users with optimal tools - from amateurs who simply want a high-quality, durable product to professionals who know every little detail of their setup and want to adjust it accordingly . While pro saddles and cockpits tend to be the focus, we're also incredibly proud of our new tools and pumps. In doing so, we focused primarily on the development of the team versions of our best-selling tools. Our line-up now fits in perfectly with the latest product trends on the market and is equally suitable for hobby mechanics and team mechanics. We think these new tools will really hit the spot in 2021.” – Mark Kikkert, Director of Product Development at Pro
Pro team tools
With the new Pro Team tools, two highlight products are coming onto the market: the digital Pro Team torque wrench and the Pro Team Delta Tool.
The digital Pro Team torque wrench enables maximum precision for every mechanic who wants to precisely control the tightening torque for each screw or nut. The tool features a ratcheting mechanism with a digital strain gauge and an LCD display that provides both visual and audible feedback. The torque range is from 1-25 Nm and should therefore be sufficient for any adjustments to the bike. A beep sounds when a selected torque is reached. A replaceable battery, a hard case, eight bits (2/2,5/3/4/5/6 Allen, T20/T25) and a ¼-inch adapter are also included.
The Pro Team Delta Tool, on the other hand, is a premium tool for precise settings and offers individual solutions. The interchangeable bits enable mechanics to put together the optimal tool combination themselves and to adapt it to different tasks. The aluminum body of the Delta Tool and the ergonomic handle ensure good leverage and high, long-lasting performance. The particularly durable, heat-treated bits made of hardened steel are supplied in 13 versions (hex socket: 2/2,5/3/4/5/6/8; PH2/SL4/SL6 screwdriver, T20/T25/T30) and thus offer the largest Flexibility for almost all maintenance work on the bike.
Pro performance tools
Various new tools will also be launched at the Pro Performance level in December, including the Pro Mini Torque Wrench, the Pro Cassette Tool, the Pro Chain Tool and the dedicated Pro Tubeless tire levers.
The Pro Mini Torque Wrench is a compact, versatile and functional tool that fits in any jersey pocket and can therefore be taken anywhere. The tool comes with three preset levels (4, 5 and 6 Nm) precise enough not to tighten screws or nuts with too much torque, which is particularly important for carbon frames. Its magnetic head can hold six different bits (3, 4, 5 and 6mm Allen, as well as T25 and SL4), all of which are stored safely and neatly in the tool's handle for quick and easy access.
The Pro Cassette Tool is a tool for removing cassettes from the driver body that offers an alternative to the classic "chain whip". It is compatible with cassettes with a smallest sprocket of 10 or 11 teeth and should be used in combination with the Pro Lock Ring Tool. The Cassette Tool holds the cassette securely by engaging the teeth of the smallest sprocket, allowing you to remove the lock ring without getting your hands dirty. A long handle provides great leverage and is ergonomically designed and equipped with non-slip material.
As a supplement in the drive category, there is also a new, inexpensive chain tool that enables an immense variety of chains from the racing bike, gravel, urban, mountain bike or e-bike segments to be cut to length. This is available in two variants, 1-9-speed chains, and in a version for the narrower 9-12-speed chains. Both models are provided with a corresponding imprint, which clearly shows the respective area of application.
Tubless tires are also becoming more and more popular on the road and confirm the trend that we already know from MTB and Gravel. Especially for this Pro comes with the tubeless tire lever with its longer levers specially developed for the stiff sidewalls of road bike and gravel tubeless tires. Of course, you can also use these for clincher tires, but they are particularly suitable for removing and installing tubeless tires on racing bikes and gravel. With the additional hook function, a stiff tubeless tire can be lifted back onto the rim without damaging the carcass, the rim or the rim tape.
Pro air pumps
Pumps are an increasingly important product segment for PRO and so the line-up of innovations for 2021 is truly impressive with a clear "Good - Better - Best" gradation and a total of seven new models (four floor pumps, two mini pumps and one damper pump). .
At the top of the new range is the Pro Team floor pump, which, with its Ergo-Fit handle and dual pressure gauge, ensures easy and precise inflation, regardless of whether a large volume or high pressure is to be generated. The high-quality construction made entirely of aluminum, the universal AH pump head, which automatically adapts to Presta or Schrader valves, and the pressure release valve ensure maximum ease of use. The Team floor pump can generate up to 10 bar/140 PSI pressure, in the high-volume range up to 2,8 bar/40 PSI the manometer scale has a much finer resolution for maximum precision.
The Pro Team damper pump is the most precise damper pump that enables precise chassis and suspension setups. It was specifically designed with the type of rider in mind for whom every PSI or tenth of a bar makes a world of difference. Thanks to the Schrader ball-head design of the pump head, the pump hose can be connected securely but flexibly to the valve of a suspension fork or damper element, which makes operation noticeably easier. The top features also include the precise digital pressure display (accuracy +/- 2%), a pressure release valve for fine adjustment and the performance with a maximum pressure of 300 PSI. At just 167 g, it is only reserved in terms of weight.
In addition to these two new pumps, the line-up also includes two new performance-level mini pumps. The Pro mini pump Performance XS is the smallest pump in the entire collection. It measures only 16 centimeters and weighs just 99 grams. The new two-sided screw head for Presta and Schrader valves ensures a good hold on the valve, the telescoping design facilitates operation and, despite the small dimensions, delivers 38 cm3 of air per stroke. The PRO Mini Pump Performance XL (PRPU0105), on the other hand, is at the other end of the scale and is PRO's largest "mini" pump. It pumps 93 cm3 of air per stroke, around 2,5 times more than conventional mini pumps. The XL model features a fold-out manoment, a footrest for greater stability and the same pump head as its XS counterpart. At 215 grams, the weight is still suitable for touring, 8 bar/120 PSI pressure are possible.
All products will be available from December 2021.
