News: For the past 10 years, Rapha has been bringing movement and joy to the cycling community with its unique challenge over the holidays. Because the aim of the Rapha Festive 2010, which has been established since 500, is to cycle 500 kilometers between Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The challenge is to take place again this year and is entering its 11th round.
The Festive 500 originated in the south of England but like so many activities, the challenge has grown into an event in its own right and has become a global challenge over the past decade. In total, participants in the Rapha Festive 500 have clocked up more than 130 million kilometers over the years. The event will be back in 2020 and offers more opportunities than ever to cover the kilometers during the Christmas season.
New to the Rapha Festive 500
A novelty at this year's Rapha Festive 500 is the option to unwind kilometers on Strava. Because of lockdowns, social distancing or because self-motivation in the colder season can be a greater challenge for many than driving itself, one would like to offer even more opportunities to cover the 500 kilometers in 8 days.
Zwift's online community is bigger than ever, and it's hoped that by being able to add virtual miles to the total distance, riders from all over the world can support each other when there's a lack of group rides and socializing outdoors. In preparation for the Festive 500, Rapha and Zwift are also offering a series of training rides together to prepare for the challenge.
For this year's #Festive500, all participants will be supported with training sessions on Instagram Live from December, so that the challenge can be successfully completed. With lectures on the subject of winter training and question and answer sessions with professional athletes such as Kadeena Cox, you are also prepared for the days ahead. Restrictions permitting, they'll even be offering a variety of group training rides and organized group rides throughout the Festive 500.
Register now for the Festive 500!
Right now, it's easy to sign up with a Strava account and take part in the Rapha Festive 500 promotion. Here you record your trips and the total kilometers are added up automatically. After completing the challenge, you will of course receive the coveted finisher badge in your own Strava profile.
Since a lot can happen in 500 kilometers, you also have the opportunity to share your adventures with the community and take part in the annual awards.
Rapha Festive 500 Collection
Rapha's Festive 500 collection is designed to give the best possible support to participants on their course. It includes everything from bandanas to ass savers. The collection includes: Technical T-Shirts (for men and women), Indoor Training Tanks (for men and women), Hat, Beanie, Socks, Ass Saver, Bottle and Pouch.
Driving through is worth it!
