Cycling: Marc Hirschi will no longer compete for the German team DSM in the coming season. This was announced by the former Sunweb team on Tuesday via press release. So far it is unclear where the young Swiss will go.
Marc Hirschi has the contract terminated
Shortly after the beginning of the year, cycling was hit with a real bang. Marc Hirschi is leaving the German team DSM with immediate effect. The team – which was known under the name Sunweb until December – announced this on their own website this Tuesday afternoon. There are no more details about the reasons. In the press release, the team management wishes Marc Hirschi all the best for the future. It is also made clear that there will be no further information about this.
Where is the young Swiss going?
The only 22-year-old Swiss is considered one of the greatest talents in cycling. Last year he made his absolute breakthrough in the WorldTour. He won a stage of the Tour de France and the prestigious one-day classic Flèche Wallonne. So far it is still unclear which team was able to secure the services of the huge talent for 2021. It is possible that the driver was bought out of his contract, which was actually valid until the end of 2021, by a financially strong sponsor.
Team DSM and @MarcHirschi are to part ways for the 2021 season. Thanks for everything Marc!
